Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, where casino gambling is against the law. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; still, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are methods around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling den, contains 150 slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machine games and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel compound that features many conveniences accompanying the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
